Unreleased Madden 1996 (PSX) video

In 1996, Visual Concepts developed Madden 1996 for the PS2. The game was so poor that EA decided to not release the game, and worked with Tiburon on Madden 1997. And from this brief video, you can guess why. Odd camera views, terrible running animations, strange blocking…eek.

You state that VC developed Madden 1996 for the PS2. I believe you mean the original PSX.

I remember before a MNF game at Candlestick, ESPN showed some 49ers off the field.
One of them was John Taylor, playing a football video game, which was nothing like anything on the market.
Rumors were that this was the unreleased Madden.
It seemed intriguing, showing larger players (or maybe just zoomed in) than when they released Madden 1997 for the PSX, which was a lousy game.
That was the year GameDay went to polygons while EA said it couldn’t be done.
