Would the real Sport73 please rise.
Just a quick post to introduce myself, as I plan to use this blog frequently for my personal musings on technology, sports gaming, and the web. I am 34 years old, and currently employed as Vice President of Marketing for a software firm in South Florida. Married, with one (4-year old) daughter, most of my time is spent working. My favorite activity outside of work is to ‘vegetablize’ by playing games, surfing the web for technology news (yes, I surf the web to read about the web), and watching copuous amounts of Television (the drug of the nation). My online monicker, Sport73, is nothing more than a descriptor of the type of digital entertainment I’m most interested in (Sports) and the year of my birth. Most of you from DSP already know my real name, but I’d prefer to keep it off this blog as I’m often cited/quoted/interviewed on the web for work and I’d prefer not to have my hobbies come up in a Google search next to my professional activities.
I consider myself an expert on all things digital, from the web to home entertainment, gaming to mobile computing, and an avid participant and prognosticator on the future of our ‘connected culture’. I’m considering a book, if I can ever find time to write it, specifically on the topic of where current technology is taking us. No doubt I’ll share it here first if it ever gets written.
I’m known to be (sometimes) viciously sarcastic, and I love a good laugh. My biggest weakness is my passion for the things I believe in, as it often makes me bull-headed, loud, and inconsiderate of consequences or the opinions/reactions of others. Still, I think of it as a blessing, because when I’ve got a fire going inside on something my focus and tenacity to see it through is all-encompassing and generally serves me well.
Enough about me, let’s talk about something you want to discuss…Oh, you want to discuss me? Naturally…
