Let me introduce myself.

scoopbradylogoHello everyone. I’d like to use my first entry as an introduction for those that may not know me. Those that know me may even learn a thing or two as well. I’ve been a member of the Digital Sportspage community since 2003. I first started posting under the name bdt92 but changed to ScoopBrady in August of 2003.

I’m 34-years-old and live in Romeoville, IL. I’m been married for almost 8 years now and I have a 4-year-old daughter named Izzy (Isabella). I am the network coordinator (and basically the entire IT department) for a technical college. I’ve lived in Illinois my whole life. As a native of the Chicagoland area I am a total homer when it comes to sports. If there’s a team in Chicago, I’ll root for it. I’m even one of those rare breeds that like both the Chicago Cubs AND the Chicago White Sox. Most people from Chicago would tell you that that isn’t possible but I’m living proof that it is. My dad came from downstate Illinois where he grew up a Cardinals fan. When he moved to Chicago he started watching both teams and as a result he would take my brother and I to Comiskey and Wrigley where I developed a liking for both. He’d also take us to the occasional Blackhawks games too. The thing that he really passed down to us is our love of the Bears. He was a Bears season ticket holder and passed those tickets on to my brother and I after he retired and moved to South Carolina. The tickets have been in the family since 1975 and my brother and I have had them for 6 years now. While I love, and root for, all Chicago sports team, the Bears are my passion. The same can be said about football.

If I had to rank the major sports football would top my list, followed by hockey, baseball, soccer, and basketball. There are a few sports teams that I root for that reside outside of the Chicagoland area as well. They are the Tennessee Titans and the New Jersey Devils. When the Titans play the Bears or the Devils play the Hawks I won’t root for them. Fortunately that isn’t very often.

I’ve been a gamer since I was 6 and received my very first system; the Odysee. Odysee came with 3 variations of pong: Tennis, Squash, and Hockey. Since the Odysee I have owned or currently own the following consoles: NES, Genesis, Playstation, Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Xbox, Gamecube, Xbox 360, and the Nintendo Wii. I have also owned or currently own the following handhelds: Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, and the Playstation Portable. Right now, most of my time gaming is on the Xbox 360, PSP, and Nintendo Wii. I’m a big sports video game fan as well as a big fan of shooters. I like just any genre of video games but those are my two favorites. Basically, give me a good football game and a good shooter and I’ll be happy. My Gamertag is ScoopBrady, shoot me an invite if you want.

As far as what to expect from my blog entries, I guess you could expect a little of everything. I’ll likely post game impressions, random thoughts on technology and entertainment, the occasional list or two, and anything quirky that goes on in my life.
